Pi's boat ride with Richard Parker is my favorite part of the story. It drew me in and didn't let me go until, well, the present time in Canada (for me, that brought me back to the theater in Albuquerque). I love the life force Pi has demonstrated on the sea. As well is his willingness to make up yet another story for the Japanese investigators. People have a hard time believing unusual happenings. But they show they are able to observe and absolve them. For that, I've come to appreciate the beginning and the ending parts of the movie.
