I saw Life of Pi 3D for the second time last night. I was so overwhelmed by the stunning visuals the first time around, I felt I needed to see it again to truly live the entire experience. This film touched me in ways that I cannot put into words.
For me, this was a perfect story and a perfect film. I, unlike some others, was not distracted by the unusual ending. I highly recommend this film! At Oscar time, I will be teetering between Lincoln and Life of Pi. My head will choose Lincoln but my heart and soul will choose Life of Pi. By the way, during the second viewing, I noticed Ang Lee pulling a Hitchcock! On the ship, Lee is a sailor in the mess who walks up to the serving table just before Pi and his family do. Blink and you'll miss it!
