Life of Pi(2012)- User Reviews

I took my 3 1/2 year old grandson to see it and I had to explain a lot about how animals like to eat other animals for dinner. He was bored with it about 25% of the time and he is usually really good at movies with me. Some pretty heavy scenes that you would really have to explain to a younger child. I would recommend for 8 and above. He did really enjoy seeing all the animals and sea life though, probably would be good on DVD where you could fast forward it a little after you watched it yourself. Found it to be great myself. Very philosophical. Excellent visual effects, very beautiful and insightful. We watched it in 3-D, a must. Worth the money, glad I got to see it on the big screen. Great sea storm effect reminiscent of castaway.
