This isn't a bad movie, the action scenes and CGI are pretty terrific. But this same old story-with-a-story that permeated the last big time Indian-themed movie is kind of tired. When the action wasn't about Pi on the boat, I could have cared less what happened. And if you're not going to keep my attention through the whole film, then you need to patch the dull parts. Don't go out of your way to see it, but don't avoid it if your friends want to go.
