Interesting movie, but really nothing to write home about in the end

I guess the movie was meant to get somebody thinking about the deeper philosophical meaning to things, but in the end left me kind of flat.
Any inspiration went out the window with confession of the real story to the 2 Japanese guys, honestly I doubt they would have listened to entire first story at all. So the sotry get's a little fishier at that point and your left to try and figure out if any of it is true.
Since you can't figure out if any of it is true , where is the inspiration?
Special effects were good but not the best I have ever seen.
Glad I did not go to the movie to see this one, saved a bit of money.
