Life of Pi(2012)- User Reviews

Ok, I get it. As far fetched of a story as the imagination could muster. Tigers, orangutans, zebras, and hyenas all together on a small life raft with a skinny kid, for parts of 7 months at sea- please...But, hey wait a minute, wasn't that exactly what the story was supposed to be about. Were we expecting this to have really occurred - real life drama...hello. Once again fellow movie goers, this is fiction.

Unless I totally didn't get it, the story was narrated by a man that used his imagination to survive the devastation of losing everything he had. All his worldly possessions plus, and most importantly, his entire family. This is a common "real" mechanism of survivalism brought to the "big screen" in an incredibly vivid piece of cinema.

Yes, once again special effects could be accused of ruling the day, but come on, this kid was superb and the story of survival was riveting. I read a reviewer's comments about the special effects and how unbelievable the whole story was. Uhhh...boy what was he expecting when he pushed his money towards the cashier.

Anyway, there are scenes in this movie that will blow your mind. The story line is far fetched but highly entertaining. Do some research on the show before you go so you get an idea of what you'll be seeing. Do this and you will love it.
