I went to this film expecting an amazing, inspirational tale of this guy's incredible journey, with the occasional life lesson and meaningful metaphor. Instead what I got was amazing visual effects, but an absolutely pathetic story line. There were many times I was almost bored to death, more than several scenes I felt completely unnecessary and took too long, and in my opinion there were a lot of badly timed events. Life of Pi was incredible visually, but nowhere near as incredible in regards to the story line.
