Where to begin?! From the moment I sat down in a New Hampshire theater, I knew this movie was going to be magnificent!. The camerawork is so beautifully done, and the acting, (especially Anne Hathaway and Samantha Barks) was flawless. Thank god for the comic relief, provided by Sacha Baron Cohen, and Helena Bonham Carter, because I would have had to leave, due to the upsetting first Act. Being a fan of the novel by Victor Hugo, and not really one of the theater musical adaption, I didn't know what to expect. I appreciate that Tom Hooper was able to bring both the novel and the musical, in to one breathtaking cinematic revelation. Les Misérables is an adventure worth taking, nominated for eight Oscars© including Best Supporting Actress Anne Hathaway, Best Actor Hugh Jackman, and Best Motion Picture of the Year, this film has won it's place in my Top Ten List, and my prediction for Best Picture. Don't forget to bring tissues, because after Anne Hathaway's performance of "I Dreamed A Dream", you'll need it!
