A First-Rate Potboiler

This movie has more plot twists than any movie I've seen. Julia Ormond character marries younger brother (the kid from "ET" grown up), who dies in WWI, then marries or sleeps with middle brother (Brad Pitt) who goes off on world sailing trip, and then marries third brother, who becomes an evil congressman. Middle brother (Pitt) comes back, finds Ormond gone and married to elder brother, so he marries Indian girl, who is killed by evil moonshiners. Elder Congressman brother returns to family and helps kill off evil moonshiners who supported his election. Dad who has had stroke welcomes elder brother back with big hug. Middle brother (Pitt) goes off into mountains, where he is killed by grizzly bear decades later. THE END.

Wow--entertaining potboiler. I get some of the scenes confused with "A River Runs Through It"--both are set in Montana, mostly in the 1920s, and star Brad Pitt as an adventure-seeker. But "A Eiver runs Through It" is a classic movie (see my review-A+). "Legends of the Fall" is a good potboiler. B+.
