"Lawrence of Arabia" is the story of the exciting adventures of one of World War I's most illustrious figures, T.E. Lawrence. A major of the British Army who led the Turks to battle and fight for independence. Director David Lean won an Oscar as Best Director, and this film won five more Oscars, including Best Film Editing, Best Color Cinematography, Best Music Score, Best Color Art Direction, and Best Picture of 1962. Peter O' Toole's magnificent performance as T.E. Lawrence is memorable, as well as other great actors, including Alec Guinness, Anthony Quinn, Anthony Quayle, Claude Rains, Jose Ferrer, Arthur Kennedy, and Omar Sharif. "Lawrence of Arabia" is a spectacular film of its time.
