Save your time and skip this one. Intellectually and morally dishonest. Forrest could not have survived either of those assaults, especially while his rescuer is raped before she could help him, lack of vascular surgery in the 30's, lack of transfusions, and lack of antibiotics. But even worse was the ridiculous homey scene at the end, with moonshine jars converted to canned fruit and veggies, candlelit dinners, and everyone happy and married and LAW-ABIDING. A silly 'values' bandaid applied at the end after violence for 99% of the movie, made even more nonsensical because none to the characters displayed dismay or hesitation at the criminal lifestyle leading up to this 'Mayberry R.F.D.' "ending". Not even the Mennoite-eque girlfriend of Jack ever tried to talk him into a safer, law-keeping lifestyle.
