First time I had seen this movie today (Oct 2nd, 2011). It shows a true meaning of what Firefighters and their Families go through, while the guys are out fighting fires and saving people.

Ladder 49 was an incredible movie. I was absolutely astounded by the special effects which were probably just as good if not better than Backdraft. Ladder 49 is an inspirational film that takes you into the life of a firefighter trapped in a fire. …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

As the firefighters are portrait in this movie, i considered them as real heroes. Not the soldiers, who fight only when they have superior numerity, and with a lot of tecnoligy against others in inferior condition. Anyway, thats another point. I asked myself that several times. The hard work, the hard play between calls, the family life. Ladder 49 seemed less like a feature film and more like a documantery. Mediocre directing brings Ladder 49 down. However, despite small disappointments, it's a pretty good movie. It's probably the best firefighter movie out now.
