I know I'm three years behind writing a review, but I saw the movie on DVD and I like this version of King Arthur. I wish I could find it "Full Screen." I even bought the sound track because I like it so much. I think the acting was excellent especially the dialogue between Clive and Ioan in the stable and at the wall getting ready to fight the Saxon's; excellent. I think they should have been nominated for best acting. I was amazed how good actors they all are. I did here a familiar sound of kids laughing same as in Gladiator. However, this movie stood out on it's own rite.
Also, Keira's performance was good. Antoine Fuqua is a good director. You can tell he put a lot of work into it. Antoine, please direct another film during the century period.
The move rates an "A" in my book.
This movie was of a commander dedicated to his skill and his fighting men's freedom and his men to him. They loved Arthur and he loved them. The relationship between he and Lancelot showed devotion to each other and their differences as individuals. Ioan has a beautiful voice. Also, I wanted to comb Trishnan's hair. (smile) All actors were good.
Love, devotion, romance, heroics and braveness and a tad of comedy with Bors with his 11 children revealed all in King Arthur. Backed up with musicians and the singing. Bravo, bravo.
This may sound silly, but I was moved when the black stallion nodded his head at the end of the movie. It was touching. Such beauty and grace in an animal. Hats off to the horse trainers.
P.S. I like the round table discussion with the actors at the round table and this is an A movie. A friend of mine said it was on the order of Gladiator, but I don't think so. I don't watch it as much as I do King Arthur.
Sorry I'm very late responding.
