Misunderstood Gem

"Jump tomorrow" is the story of a mild-mannered and somewhat fatigued member of the new economy's upwardly *im*mobile white-collar working class. On an internal quest for understanding of love and destiny, he nevertheless leaves the future of his own life up to the determination of his Nigerian parents' decades-old arrangement of his marriage. On the way to his own wedding, his outward sense of resignation and his inward fantasy life begin to pull each other into unrecognizable pieces.

This is one of the greatest mid- to low-budget comedies or romances released in recent years. It's characters are unpredictable and lovable, and its story idea is unique, but it also excels on standards of image and form: it acheives a splendid wit in the rhythmic use of colors and textures, all of which set the characters' emotions and confusions better than a musical sound track ever could. But most of all, this film is exciting and delightful. A sweet and stimulating pleasure.

Forget what the other critics say. I have no idea what they're looking for that they found lacking in this highly choreographed and stylized work of comic entertainment. It's simply beautiful.
