Sunshine was a great concept, but it fell short because of the third act. My thinking is that the writer didn't know where to go, so they felt it would be all right to proceed into familiar territory. This particular territory was known as EVENT HORIZON(1997). I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen SUNSHINE, but for those who saw the aforementioned EVENT HORIZON, you'll get what I'm talking about. Everything else worked here, except for that. Still, if you're willing to look past that major flaw and enjoy an original sci-fi film, may I present...SUNSHINE!!
