What a cute action movie! Tom was good and the film was well shot, but he wasn't Jack Reacher. Jack Reacher is 6'5" and I'm sorry, but while Tom can play the wheels off of any action character, he cannot play 6'5" Jack Reacher. That is the only problem with the movie, and it is insurmountable. Regular-sized folk don't understand that the world is different to a large man. You don't quietly enter a bar at 6'5", rather, the entire room swivels to look. You don't step out into a crowd at the curb and disappear, you stand out like a sore thumb. Most Hollywood action-heroes are mid-5-foot range. Watch a Steven Seagal movie sometime. At 6'4", Seagal, while a very formulaic actor at best, at least demonstrates what a large fighter looks like. And when a Tom Cruise-size is the hero, do the bad guys never hire any 6-foot plus bruisers? None of the thugs was much taller than Tom. Perhaps the size was not as important to Lee Childs, but to many of his readers, including me, it was paramount. Again, sorry Tom, but I have to call it cute!
