Jack Reacher- User Reviews

I like Tom Cruise. I don't think guys have to be big to be in action movies and to be credible and I think Cruise has usually done a good job in these roles, in spite of his small (5'7") size. But Jack Reacher's 6' 5" NFL linebacker size is part of his character in every novel. Cruise doesn't pretend to be Bruce Lee, with incredible martial arts skills which might make it believable that he could take five and then three guys out in brawling fights, so even though they went out of their way to cast other small guys as his opponents, the fights in this movie look silly. Also, it's time to stop looking for excuses for him to take his shirt off. I know he works hard to keep in good shape, but that time is past. He looks a little jowly too. I think he could still pull off some action stuff for a few more years if he didn't play a guy who everyone knows is a foot taller and 100 pounds heavier and intimidating by his very presence.
