Only Ms. Streep could get up the enthusiasm to put any effort into making this bomb look real. Everything was boringly predictable, but, worse than that, I am sufficiently male to be offended by writers whose effort at comedy is to make men look like idiots. Alec Baldwin was either desperate or obligated contractually, else he would never have accepted a role which required him to behave like a high school freshman during middle age. Those who portrayed the children should be happy that their relative anonymity may allow them to escape the blot of this travesty as their careers mature. The culprit is the writer; I will be on the alert to avoid seeing any of her work again.
