It appeals to teenagers, too

I finally got the kids to watch it with me last night after years of trying - they complained about it being black & white - and refused over the years because it was "old."
The 19 year old laughed out loud over and over. By the end they were sold and in fact gave me a hard time about not MAKING them watch it with me before. Their ages: 19, 14 & 12. So, the upshot - it really is timeless. They were frustrated that George didn't kick the dust of the small town off his shoes and go travel, but by the end they were just as happy and just as hopeful and just as grinning ear to ear as I have ever been.
