Forget all of the naysayers. Go in with an open mind, and be prepared to laugh your #$%$ off. It's so incredibly funny. Both of these actors have such appeal. They make its silly moments believable, too.
This is also a really good parable about human behavior, btw. Everyone has some good in there if you really search it out. McCarthy's character is so low down, but she turns out to have a big heart.
