This is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. The cast did a great job. The story interesting and at times delightful. So much so that I got on my computer the next day to see if the story is true. FDR was something else. His wife misunderstood. …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

So glad I dismissed bad reviews and watched it for myself. It was a wonderful movie, great casting and acting by all, especially Bill Murray. I believe this is his finest performance yet. I'm usually not fond of Laura Linney, but her performance as Daisy …more»2 of 2 people found this review helpful-

We put off seeing this film due to some poor reviews by people we trust. As I walked out I felt this movie was unfairly and unjustly hammered by the wrong people. As to FDR having a seamy side of his character: so what? So they kept it quiet for so long. …more»19 of 19 people found this review helpful-

When I saw previews for this movie I knew I wanted to see it. I like Bill Murray and thought he would do a good job with the role ( which he did)
The story is about one of FDR's mistresses and I am fine by that. Unfortunately the story line was …more»1 of 1 people found this review helpful-

I love Bill Murray and he did an amazing job playing the part of FDR. That said, this movie was a boring let down and an insult to FDR's memory. There was no point or purpose in putting it in the public´s face that he was a terrible husband. It certainly …more»8 of 10 people found this review helpful-

It really stinks that Bill Murray made this film this year.
HYDE PARK ON HUDSON (Roger Michell, 2012) describes the King and Queen of England (Samuel West & Olivia Colman)'s visit to the U.S. to convince President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (Bill Murray) …more»16 of 16 people found this review helpful-

Nice, enjoyable film. Murray amazes once again. Only beef might be the light way in which some really significant aspects of the King's visit are treated. The careful plotting and engineering that went into that visit and its optics -- not to mention …more»3 of 3 people found this review helpful-

Great acting, totally worth seeing. However, was disappointed to learn of FDR's hidden character... The recent movie "Lincoln" did a great job capturing Lincoln. History is in "awe" of Lincoln, we all knew what we were getting …more»2 of 3 people found this review helpful-

So far best picture I've seen this year. While a slow beginning the acting is flawless. Bill Murray as FDR is surprising, astonishing, wonderful, equal in every way to Daniel Day-Lewis as Lincoln. One reason is, that here, the director made sure that …more»6 of 7 people found this review helpful-

This was a well written human interest story. The acting was superb and believable. Seems the news media was more concerned with people's feelings and not so much about the gotcha news. Neither type of news portrays realism but actual news reporting …more»1 of 1 people found this review helpful
