This story is truly magical, a visual masterpiece with wonderful characters and a potent story of love, film history, and life lessons learned. Extremely well directed and acted.
The only negative critique would be the flashback scenes where they might have used younger look-alike actors instead of the principals that were playing the older main characters of Georges and his wife. They just didn't look like you'd imagine them to be in their youth. However, it is only a minor distraction in the grand scheme of things.
You will be transfixed by this story. Plenty of smiles, laughs, and tears will be shared with the characters as they tell their story. It also may inspire you to personally not waste your talents, to live and share your life as you were meant to.
