Hope Springs: Fight for what you want

star44

What would you do if you realized you were missing something in your marriage after being married for many years? Would you give it all up or would you want to try to save your marriage? That is the question that is faced by Kay, played by actress Meryl Streep. Kay realized that her marriage was not the way it used to be and wanted to change it. So she made up her mind to go to a couples retreat and managed to persuade her clueless, skeptical husband to also join her. He was content with his life, she was not.

What follows is, at times, a comedy of errors and mishaps. She finds out more about herself as the time they spend in therapy and discovers things she never dreamed of. He is not happy with the situation and is very vocal about it. As time passes, things began to change and they start to reconnect. Problems do arise at a certain point but by the end, all ends that ends well.

My husband and I enjoyed this movie and we both thought it was a pretty good movie. It depicted life in a way that is certainly true for most couples that have been married for many years. Some couples don't try to save their marriages while others, like in this movie, fight for their marriages. If the marriage was at one time happy, then it can be again. You just have to fight strongly for what you believe in and want to change everything.
