Disappointing
Let me start by saying that I love Disney movies and look forward to seeing them. This one was disappointing. The animation was not particularly impressive, the story was dragged out and predictable; I felt like they really phoned this one in.
Anyway, most Disney movies bring something to the table for everyone in the entire family. This one does not even compare with animated films of the past 10 years like Lilo and Stitch, Hercules, Alladin, and Beauty and the Beast. Quite honestly, I felt that the Lilo and Stitch sequel that was straight to video was a better story and had better animation that Home on the Range.
The kids will enjoy it for sure, but make sure you either pay matinee prices and sneak in your own treats, or you'll feel that you overpaid. Better yet, wait until it comes to video, that's the amount of money that it deserves.
The biggest plus to this movie is that kd lang did a terrific job singing some of the movies songs. I didn't know who it was until the credits rolled. That really was the only bright spot.
