I don't find Kevin James movies to be hilariously funny but I do find them to be well written and immensely enjoyable. This effort is no exception.
The plot is is the same basic myth humans have been telling since, well, since they began telling stories. An average guy who has lost his way answers the call to adventure in a selfless act to help others. Along the way he finds help from a number of unusual and unexpected sources. In the end he rediscovers his muse and in the process positively affects the lives of all those around him.
This movie tells this old story very well indeed. It is well paced but with just enough character development to get you invested into the story. My whole family loved this movie so much we went back and watched it a second time (ages 12, 16, 37, 48).
