The greatest comedy of all time.

I saw this movie on TCM and was blown away. I finally saw a true comedic masterpiece of a movie. Not the over top try too hard to be funny movies of today a la Myeres, Stillers, Vaughns, and Ferrels. Don't get me wrong I love those movies but they have no artistic merrit. The story line is simple and endearing and the moral is universal. Jimmy Stewart is lovable as Elwood P. Dowd, a man with an 'imaginary friend' of a 6' 3.5" rabbit. Veta, Elwood's sister, sort of steals the show and I am pretty sure took home the Oscar deservingly so for her performance.

After I saw the movie, I read up about it. Turns out Chase wanted a certain addition to the end scene which I think would have made the movie better, if it is possible to make better.

As long as you aren't too ruined by today's movies, not all, just the ones of unending action scenes and noise, if you enjoy movies beyond the ones that are simply sensory overload, then this is a must see.
