Some accidents are good!

A highly engaging romantic comedy-drama with a twist. It is often very reminiscent in its feel and much of its theme of a classic and fondly remembered BBC play from many years ago, called "The Flipside of Dominick Hyde". That was an enormously charming piece, and this film conjures up a great deal of the same charm.

There are nagging little things which don't quite add up about it, and it goes on long enough to start to drag at times in the second half. But it does pull back nicely at the ending to leave you with the right glow. Marisa Tomei plays her usual type of part, but she can do such marvellous things with it that she is a total delight, and Vincent D'Onofrio is suitably ambiguous in his role, so you are kept guessing as to how nuts he really is.

It's a surprisingly little-known film, considering how all-round appealing it is.
