to blow my brains out after watching this 2 hour and 19 minute waste of film. Do do do do do do- oh yea!
I have to get this main point off of my chest first:
For those of you who liked the movie because of the (rarely explored in film) subject matter, please have your skull examined by a trained professional. Just because a movie explores a rare subject in Hollywood today such as child molestation and it's associated taboos does not make it good. IF I MAKE A MOVIE ABOUT PEOPLE WHO LIKE TO FRAME THEIR ***** STAINED UNDERWARE AND HANG IT ON THE WALL TO CALL IT ART I WOULD NOT EXPECT... A So Paulo International Film Festival award. Give me a break! It just goes to show you how ass backward those people in So Paulo are! Stay the HELL out of that town! Remind me to cross off Brazil on my list of places to go!
OK on to the acting. The first scene in the film was the best with Jon Lovitz in all of his glory, but then the movie takes a turn for the worst and never recovers. The acting gets so bad it was like watching a film student's first project. I would like to commend Philip S. Hoffman for his attempt to brighten this dim movie up and his presences is probably the only reason I watched the second half of the film.
In summary this movie SUCKED. The more I think about this movie the lower the grades are going.
I better wrap this up before I click any lower for the overall score.
PEACE OUT.
PS. For those of you who want to enjoy a good dark comedy try DR Strangelove or at least Fargo (although not every Coen movie is a good movie, I will recommend this over Happiness any day of the week)
