To all the people complaining of the violence and that the movie is not for young people, that's why the movie is rated R. *shaking head*
For those of you who actually pay attention to movie facts, Hansel & Gretel is exactly what you'd think. A cheesy, enjoyable, but basic witch hunter movie. The only thing differentiating this movie from a Saturday night SyFy special is Jeremy Renner--love him--and great CGI.
I went into the movie not expecting rocket science but a gruesome, fun, supernatural slap fest. I give it a solid C+/B-. Nice acting, some okay fights, a tiny romance that goes nowhere, and a kick#$%$ brother sister witch hunting team.
If you realize the movie will be exactly like the trailers, but not as energetic, you'll enjoy the film. But don't take a kid, and seriously, don't complain about the violence. (Honestly, do you people even read what the movie is supposed to be about before you view it?)
