An Elegant, creepy and psychotic work of art...

In an effort to see the critic's list of greatest classic films ever. I am viewing the classics one by one on select weekends and making my own judgment. --This week it was Hamlet's turn. At first the film is hard to understand, what with the use of actual shakesperean old english...but we didnt give up watching nor did we want to...The film draws you in as you become inspired and mesmorized by Lawarance Oliviers incredible acting. He is totally engulfed by the character of Hamlet, His portrayal is so emotionally charged and forceful, that I found myself emotionally drained and exhausted at the end of the film from just watching him! Each character in this film is memorable and well acted. The scenes in which Hamlets dead father appears as a ghost is well executed in its disturbing manner. Overall the films cinematography was excellent.
If the Hallmark of an excellent film is the ability to make you think about it days after you saw it than this film succeeds mightily.
