That film left a bad taste in my mouth. Somehow, the editor of the script managed to butcher Shakespeare's image by slicing the script to death and ruining every single scene and destroying the character's motivations, including the lovely Ophelia's …more»1 of 1 people found this review helpful-

As a literature teacher, I have read and seen this play numerous times. But Almareyda's Manhattan version of the story was the first time I ever had an emotional reaction to Hamlet's fate. It was also the first time Shakespeare's language …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

This is among the worst movies i have ever had the "pleasure" of seeing. It was so incredibly bad. The whole modern ***** makes the nearly impossible to understand even worse, especially when the comparison's to our modern world are done …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

If I were not too conventional to keep my taste, Id have to admit that I was tortured when I watched this movie. Not because of its acting, nor of its visuals. The most intolerable defect of this movie is, that the loss of the original intent of the …more»1 of 1 people found this review helpful-

I never was a huge Shakespeare fan. The more recent Romeo and Juliet was modernized well, adn I enjoyed it.

The case is all around very …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful
