Halloween was created off of a budget that was 300,000 dollars. With 21 days to shoot and 300,000 dollars, young filmmakers John Carpenter and Debra Hill created the best independent horror film of all time...."Halloween." Halloween for me is very chilling, very suspensful in the sense of shocking you and making you just tense up waiting for Michael's next move. When you watch Halloween you are frightened and riveted at the same time. It's amazing to me that such a small movie spawned off a huge franchise, which in fact is the top grossing franchise ever! Michael Myers is the boogeyman. You can't argue with him or debate with him or ask him for mercy. He is the great white shark of our unconcious. Halloween is by far statistically, opiniatedly, and in my mind the best movie, let alone horror film, of all time. Long live Halloween!
