Decent acting from all; Gosling is very good. Interesting story line with the confluence of two cultures, though it's a little tedious finally getting to the climax that everyone knows is coming between the two stars.
Unfortunately, this is yet …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

A really dull and pointless movie. Why bother making it? It didn't teach me anything nor did it entertain me. Why make such a bland and boring crap?more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

Half Nelson, led by the incredible actor Ryan Gosling, is a fairly depressing movie that is superb from a movie-making standpoint. But for the average viewer, it leaves much to be desired.

... this is just a dreary, wandering, no-payoff movie. I don't need a Hollywood ending, but even a small degree of resolution would add a touch of interest. Otherwise, what's the point? The viewer becomes nothing more than a voyeur, watching …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

I found it quite pretentious and really overrated. Gosling's performance was just about the only redeemable aspect I found in the film, with the lack of a coherent plot, amateurish direction, and muddled dialogue. I was never involved in the story, …more»1 of 1 people found this review helpful
