There's quite a bit present with 'Green Street Hooligans' it's just too bad a quarter of it is spent on graphic (NOT for the squeamish) violence. Matt is a ex-journalist wrongly expelled from Harvard. He retreats to London to meet his sister and their new family. Soon, he becomes involved with 'firms' gangs that meet via football (soccer) games to fight. Essentially, 'Green Street Hooligans' is two movies a suspenseful drama and a gory gang flick to rival 'The Warriors'. The problem is that one story is better than the other (the drama) and is significantly shorter. Elijah Wood and Charlie Hunnam do adequately well as the leads but everyone else just comes off as passable. It's not a bad film, but 'Green Street Hooligans' is a film deserves so much more than what it ends up being.
