I'd still rather read the book than watch this. But the plot and acting were pretty good. Estella is as seducive as ever and Gwynet showed it. The kid who played young Finn was pretty good too. Ethan Hawke was the same, a good actor but not totally oscar-worthy. All in all, I'd buy the DVD and watch it only once in a while.
