Goddamn...I've never seen a movie where I felt so angry! I know it sounds bad but in the film you see two gorillas killed in different scenes and--ugh! I never wanted to cry and just punch those poachers in their *****ing faces! In the 1960's; The film starts out with Dian Fossey meeting Louis Leakey (yes the famous paleontologist). Fascinated by Gorillas she decides to devote herself to studying gorillas. Thus, she heads to The Republic of Congo to start her work on Gorillas but is soon kicked out by the Civil War at the time. She decides to study them (Gorillas) in Rwanda...She hires tracker, Sembagare and gets real close to the Gorillas and three anti-poaching Patrol Officers. Disproving of many myths about the animal such as Gorillas being violent and vicious. However one day, Poachers kill 5 gorillas who were protetcing a baby that the poachers wanted to sell to a zoo owner named, Van Vecten. The Poachers escape with the baby gorilla, a young boy is captured...Dian asks where they took the Baby and attempts to make him tell her by giving him a chocolate bar, he refuses. Howver since she's been called a witch by the locals, she puts on a frightening mask and scares the young child into telling her. Dian finds the van of Van Vecten, filled with numerous animals including a baby Gorilla. Dian begins to harass Van Hecten on numerous occasions especially after the death of Digit but we'll get to that soon after. The Baby, Pucker is severely malnutritioned and injured but Dian eventually nurses her, Pucker back to health, later giving Pucker to a Zoo (I think, it is never made clear where she gave her). She later learns that Pucker died in the same month that she was taken away. Dian gets really close to the gorillas, she devotes everyday of her time with them, playing with them, observing them, and even acting like them...5 years later Bob Campbell, a photgrapher, from the National geographic takes pictures of her and the friendly Gorillas. It is around this time that she becomes friends with Silverback (or male Dominant figure/bodygaurd)Digit named because his fourth and fifth finger are webbed...Eventually Bob leaves Dian because he is offered a Job in Borneo, Dian recieves students who join Dian in the study of the Gorillas....One day, and this is probably the most emotional scene: When Dian and her students are heading back to their camp after studying the Gorillas they hear Digit's group yelling, they head back as fast as they could....Digit is immiedately aware of the poacher's presance, He finds them; Digit fights back severely harming two of them (yay!) before being speared twice by those son of bitches mother*****ers you call poachers! Dian soon arrives to find her favorite Gorilla and best friend decapitated and handless (In real life the poachers were paid $20 for Digit, how *****ed up is this world?). Dian is outraged and saddened, she furthermore harasses Van Vecten and the Rwandan Government. Two of Digit's MURDERERS are captured, Dian stages a Mock Hanging and her students begin to call her crazy. Soon she finds two students having sex in cabin she makes her furious and fires them! She buriess Digit in the mountain and burns down the huts of Poachers, scares tourists away by shooting at them, and claiming that she's never lost a gorilla after that...Sadly Dian is mysteriously murdered after that, not much is shown about her death except that she had a picture of her and Digit with her...She is buried next to Digit and because of research and studies she is credited for literally saving the Gorillas from Extinction....LEGEND = Dian Fossey
