This film was garbage. The first thirty minutes of hand held shakiness made me want to leave the film. The director obviously suckles on the teet of Micheal Bay. It's cheap film-making techniques, bad story telling and it doesn't involve the audience in any way.
The story is thin, almost too thin. I'm still not sure what the point of the story was. Why did he go to Russia? What were the bad guys trying to do? Eh?
Bad film from top to bottom. Probably the most offensive part of the film is that it departs so greatly from the original DIE HARD premise that it feels like a cheap punch to the gut by the film makers.
Don't see this in the theater. Don't rent it. Don't even watch it when it comes to TBS or ABC late night. It will tarnish your love for the DIE HARD films much the same way the last three STAR WARS films tarnished the first three.
