I was extremely excited to see this film, but I was pretty disappointed in what I actually saw. The concept sounds excellent; William Shakespear's 'The Tragedy of Romeo & Juliet' told through lawn gnomes, but it seemed lacking. Parts of it were pretty cute, and it stuck to the real play very well, with the exception of the ending, of course. (It's a children's movie.) But, it lacked in humility. I was hoping to get a ton of laughs from this one, but unfortunately there wasn't much to laugh at. It also seemed like they focused more on the score of this film rather than the actual story itself. It almost made it seem like Elton John made this movie for the sole purpose of showcasing his discography. I would recommend this film for the kids, but make sure you rent it first to decide whether they like it or not.
