Gangster Squad(2013)- User Reviews

I went to this movie after reading the good and the awful reviews. I had some time on my hands so I wanted to decide for myself. There were way more bullets in this movie than there was dialog. And since when does Josh Brolin get top billing? Had the love relationships been more developed it could have helped, but still probably not enough. The only reason I even cared just a little bit about the Gosling and Stone characters was because of the wonderful performances they have given before. What the hell were they thinking? Sean Penn, terrible, just unbelievably terrible. I loved him in Mystic River. This was no Mystic River. This movie was just plainly one killing after another beginning in the first few seconds with a very gruesome one. I wish we had our $20 and our one hour and 53 minutes back. I wish this writer would change professions.
