What was so great about the story is how everyone is in a terrible situation, not because of their own choosing but because life just dealt all of them a terrible hand. What makes this movie so good is how every actor is perfectly cast, and how the direction never succumbs to sentimentality. My only quibble is with the Pakastani baby but otherwise an outstanding movie from beginning to end. Leo deserved her nomination.
