I've enjoyed sports movies for a long time, being and avid sports observer. Friday Night Lights is a typical sports movie with an atypical ending. Despite the fact the plot has been done over and over again (most movies like this have identical themes) the direction gives you an inside look into the pressure that all small town sports teams face. GO watch it with your dad. Do some bonding. Don't expect an academy award.
