Outside of some superior acting by Billy Bob Thornton and Lucas Black, this film was a waste of time. Based on a true story, it shows what small town Texans do with their spare time and Friday nights. Forget the NFL and professional sports, with these mediocre folks, it's high school football all the way.
In Odessa Texas, loser parents relive the golden days of their childhood by pressuring their kids to excel at high school football often times at their own detriment. In my opinion, it is one of the sorriest films I've seen in a long time, and if it weren't for some half way decent drama, I would have given it a lower grade. Again the acting was above par, but the directing and visuals, which reminded me of a third world documentary, were far less than desirable. I won't be watching this movie ever again.
