The central character is morbidly portrayed. I felt she came off as a subplot to the story. It seemed to focus more on her famous artistic husband, than on her. Selma Hyatt did not adequately deliver the full dimensions of Frida. Seemed a superficial …more»0 of 2 people found this review helpful-

Great visuals and acting....Very bad writing.
The writing of this movie is very biased. Personally, I would have liked to have seen more of the personal inner struggles of Frida, rather than her sexual experiences.

This film has excellent production values especially the production design and the music. Hayek and Molina give strong performances amid limitations in dialogue and a somewhat cliche screenplay. The direction is competent and worthy.more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

very interesting portrayal. At times, it is fastpaced and stirrs emotions, however one has to endure periods of boredom. The historical accuracy of the movie is debatable. Salma gives a sterling performance and does justice to Frida.more»0 of 1 people found this review helpful-
