Any Denzel movie interests me, but this theme falls short. The interesting start resorts to a cold story of addiction.
The direction and camera work is very good, casting is excellent with the exception of John Goodman. The females featured are outstanding. Cheatle is ok, but not up to his standards. Denzel is Denzel, and the scene early as he departs the hotel room is a classic.
I would give it 6.2
