Having been in recovery for 15 years and remembering my struggles with alcohol and other drugs...Denzel..with no actual experience with the disease of addiction...was able to portray perfectly the inner battles and demons that an addict goes through as they approach they're "BOTTOM"... the point at which they either get well or are lost forever. One of Denzel's best...He always seems to be able to take on the coomplete personns of the person he is portraying!~!!!!! OSCAR material!
