This movie is a total failure here is why.
The acting is horrible even Max Von Sydow acting is bad which is sad and also it is total waste of his talent.
The story is extremely stupid, inept and lame. The characters are even worse Flash played by Sam J. Jones was extremely lame and stupid. Flash comes across as a quarterback that has been hit too many times in the head. Homer Simpson has more brains and suave than this portrayal of Flash. Dale Arden played by Melody Anderson is even worse, I would call her the classic bimbo girl but that would be an insult to all the other bimbo girls in the world. Let just say if I had to sacrifice her to Ming the merciless to save the earth, I would hope her marriage to Ming is long and good or her death by Ming is quick and painless. I myself like the second option of these two better. Ming played by Max Von Sydow is a total waste of his talent. The character comes across as a spoiled whinny little girl that wants her way all the time. The only thing I would like to say to Ming is life sucks and is unfair so get used to it.
The special effects are extremely cheap and cheesy, especially the Hawkmen. It is truly sad when the flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz are better than the Hawkmen in this movie. By the way that movie was released in 1939 this movie was released in 1980. The only good thing about this movie is that it was a total box office failure and no squeals were ever made
