First Daughter(2004)- User Reviews

Katie Holmes keeps her top on and then some

For its "G" rating, this movie certainly did float along the edge of being a PG. And I really hoped that they would have went to PG so maybe a better script could save this mess.

Holmes plays an improbable role as the daughter of the President of the USA. And that man happens to be Michael Keaton - aka "Batman". Despite these two pretty big names, nothing really happens. The viewer might wish something to perk them up, but they will find themselves dredging through this.

Holmes goes off to college and Keaton gives her lots of protection. Too much for Holmes, since she is used to Tom Cruise giving her protection. She meets a man while in college and gains another friend as well. But things are not what they seem Keaton is running for re-election and Holmes's boyfriend has some secrets he is keeping.

Holmes acts OK in this movie, as does Batman. But despite that, there is nothing to work with here. No real drama and no real situation ever happen. Plus, the script is so bad it dulls out any remotely descent things.

As a result, this movie is hardly salvageable. "D-"
