Bletchley Park dod not break Enigma, it merely expanded on the contribution by Polish cryptoanalists from pre-war Biuro Szyfr�w.
Enigma was broken in 1926 (civilian version) and in 1928 (military version) by Polish cryptoanalysts before the WWII. The problem was to arrive quickly at the key combination, so they also built the first computing "bombs". Polish cryptoligists read most of German communication during the September 1939 attack against Poland by Germans and Russians. Poles gave the allies the mathematical procedures to break it as well as reconstructed and working enigma machines.
Rejewski (designer of "cryptologic bomb" and "cyclometer", and Zygalski, these names should be known as much as Turing who replaced contacts with switching bulbs and built upon Polish matematician's designs.
I protest against picturing Polish characters in Anglo-Saxon movies as silly, light-minded, or trecherous. It continues the ill traditon of leftist - labourist propaganda at the end of the war against Polish ally to explain why British and Amarican politicians abandoned Polish ally to the occupation, mass deportations to concentration camps (gulag) and executions of Polish citizens by Stalinist Russia. "Drunkards" and "troublemakers" was the stereotype of a typical Pole in British press and cartoons at that time. This ill tradition is continued in the contemporary movie "Enigma". It is a duty of every Polish citizen to protest such stupid stereotypes.

Moreover, it is an outrageous accusation (in the movie and in the book) that Polish cryptologists in Bletchley park could have contacted the Germans, having learned about Katy� massacre of Polish officers by NKWD.
The truth is that German authorities informed Swiss Red Cross and the world officially about the mass graves in Katyn, showing Russians as perpetrators of the crime against Polish POW's.
The plot shows that the intention of Polish cryptologist was to contribute to defeat of Great Britain by preventing the British from reading U-boot transmissions. Is it true? If it is not historically true, then what is the purpose of this lie?
