I went to this movie expecting a lot of violence, roughing up drunks on the street, and so on. Not so. This is far and away the best street cop movie I have seen.
Yes, this may be a stretch on the daily routine of real LA cops, but I didn't want to see a documentary. I wanted a good story, and it was. The violence was riveting, but a lot of other scenes were hilarious. The repartee between the two cops played out very well. The back story was interesting and quite frightening, due to the fact that these two cops came to the attention of a drug cartel because they stumbled on some of their operations.
The characters were well developed, and their private lives (wives, fiances, kids) were well portrayed.
Highly recommended.
