Great flick, but prepare for an emotional investment. Though the action is pretty raw and intense, they are mostly on the short side, with more down time in-between.

However, these non-actiony parts struck something particular with me (in a good way), especially just the simple interactions between the main characters while on patrol. It reminded me of all the great jokes and conversations I had in a Humvee with my team. The transition from these quieter scenes to the more intense, action scenes is sometimes sudden and jarring; quite similar to what some veterans' experiences, but still certainly adds to quality of this movie. I can only wonder what actual police officers with these tough experiences would think of this movie.

By civilians standards, the shock factor of certain scenes probably may have been on overload. To those with some professional 2-way firing range experience, you might be able to nit-pick some at things, but it's still a great story see at least once

And my hats off to the righteous Police officers (opposed to the corrupt) who sacrifice so much, but receive less to nothing in return.
